June Goals Update & July Goals

Hi everyone! Happy Friday! Even though it was a short week, I'm welcoming the weekend with open arms. This weekend I plan on doing anything possible to beat the heat! Tomorrow I'm headed to my hometown to swim at my parent's house and attend my friend Cetta's annual pool party! Next week I'm headed to NYC for work for a few nights so I want to soak up the weekend as much as possible!

Anyways, I wanted to check in and let you know how I fared on my June goals (read my original post here) and set some new goals for myself for July.

To start, here is how I did on my June goals:

ONE // Go to the gym 3-4 times a week: this didn't happen quite as much as I expected. I did make it to the gym, but not as much as I wanted. Hopefully I will do a little better next month.

TWO // Complete my online SAP training course: I did not do this, but I'm aiming to have it done by the end of summer! 

THREE // Reconnect with three colleagues throughout the month. I was fortunate enough to attend some work happy hours and dinners this past month. I reconnected with my friend Rachel from my old firm and hung out at happy hour with a lot of both old and new co-workers. I would consider this goal a success!

FOUR // Blog at least four days a week: I had 11 blog posts go up in June, I averaged about 3 posts a week, so while I didn't exceed my goal I didn't completely fail. 

And here are my goals for the month of July:

ONE // Stick to my going out and grocery budget better. Since getting back to Philly from NYC I've been trying to better manage my money when it comes to buying food and going out. 

TWO // Read three books. In the summer I love reading books on my deck in the morning or after work. I'm in the middle of The Good Girl and then I downloaded The Husband's Secret. I'd welcome any reading list suggestions!

THREE // Don't drink soda during the week. I have a really bad habit, I love sugary soft drinks. I have gotten MUCH better at cutting back on coke but I'd like to put an extra step and say I won't drink any exception occasionally on the weekends.

FOUR // Unplug before bed for at least 15 minutes. I eventually want to build this up to an hour, but for now I'm going to aim to unplug and not use my computer, TV, iPad, or phone for at least 15 minutes before bed.

FIVE // Get my 10k steps everyday on my Fitbit. I've been trying to get more active and stay in shape. I've been doing a lot of Fitbit challenges with my friends lately and it'd be great to actually win some (if you're reading this Thea and Brynn, I'm coming for you :P )
