Monday Motivation + Links

Sunday, March 13, 2016

Happy Monday! How was your weekend? Mine was nice and relaxing, even if it flew by. I feel like losing an hour yesterday for Daylight Savings made the weekend feel about 50% shorter. Anyways, let the countdown to Friday begin!

I thought it would be fun today to share some links, with a motivational theme for Monday, kind of similar to the links I normally do on Fridays for Monday. I hope you enjoy!

Outfit: High-Rise Jeggings // Green Silk Shirt (similar 1, similar 2, similar 3)
Smoking Slippers (similar)

Hi everyone! It has been a long week. I had a big deadline at work this week and my team and I have been pulling some long hours this week. Unfortunately something had to give and this time, it was the blog. I'm happy to say I have kept up with my workout routine this week, even if it meant a few nights being the last person in the gym (I wish I was one of those people that could work out before work regularly).

Anyways, I meant to share this outfit earlier this week but I figured I'd post it for Friday! I love this green silk button down top, especially paired with my high-rise jeggings to make the look more casual. I love pairing green and blue together, and especially around St. Patrick's Day. I thought this would be a fun outfit idea to wear for a casual office environment on St. Patty's Day, and if your office doesn't allow jeans you could easily pair a green silk top with a fun navy skirt or pixie pants

How was your week? Will you be wearing anything festive for St. Patrick's Day? I hope you all have a great Friday!

Blue and White for Spring

Monday, March 7, 2016

Happy Monday everyone! I feel like the weekends go by way too fast these days. Maybe it's the travel during the week, but I feel like I get so little time at home every week and it's always gone too fast. Anyways, I had a pretty relaxing weekend filled mostly with TV, a mid-afternoon mini-pub crawl on Saturday, and some gym time to keep up with my March Goals

I wanted to bring a fun spring outfit post to the blog today, especially since it's supposed to be warm this week, the forecast says 70 degrees on Wednesday! I just got a new pair of white jeans for spring/summer and I decided to pair them with this fun peplum Old Navy tank top, which is on sale for under $20! It's the perfect breezy piece which looks great with jeans alone, or under a light jacket. Side note, these jeans are "stay white" which means they should resist stains and stay clean longer than your average denim. For under $50, they're the perfect piece to freshen up your wardrobe and prepare for Spring.

Have you added any new Spring pieces to your wardrobe lately? What did you do this weekend? I hope you all have a great start to the week!

Spring Break Beach Dress

Wednesday, March 2, 2016

Outfit: ASOS Dress, sold out, similar here, here, here, here, and here // Turquoise Tassel Earrings //

Ok. I know, I know. You're thinking "Laura you live in Philadelphia/NYC that outfit is not seasonally appropriate". Well it just so happens when I took these pictures that it was very warm and sunny out and I had just gotten this fun dress in the mail from ASOS. I scored it on major sale and figured it'd be fun to have in my wardrobe to wear on the beach on my upcoming trip to L.A. in April! While I figured I'd tuck it away until then, when the weather was nice I couldn't resist trying it on...and then I decided it'd be fun to do an outfit post featuring some Spring Break/Beach gear.

Also, these earrings are a favorite of mine during the summer. I bought them last spring and have gotten so many compliments on them. They're the perfect piece to dress up a cute summer outfit and add a pop of color. They come in a few different colors and I definitely have my eye on the gold pair for this summer.

I've rounded up some of my favorite white summer dresses from ASOS which are similar to this one in the widget below if you want to get your summer look on early as well!

What do you think? Are you ready to start rocking your beach gear and summer clothing? Are you lucky enough to be going somewhere warm for Spring Break?

March Goals

Tuesday, March 1, 2016

march_goals_2016

Happy Tuesday Everyone! Can you believe it's already March? Even with it being a Leap Year I feel like 2016 is flying by. The past couple of weeks I've been doing a lot of thinking and goal setting. I've started making intentional movements to take care of myself more and broaden my horizons. I've always been a very goal-driven person so I decided that setting monthly goals, like some of my favorite bloggers Becca and Rachael do, would be a great device to ensure I am reaching my full potential.

While I will still have long-term goals in my 101 in 1001 list I do really well when I have short-term milestones to reach. Therefore I will be setting goals for myself each month and to keep myself accountable I'll be blogging at the end of each month on how well I did. So, without further ado, here are my goals for March:

ONE // Go to the gym 20 times - I've been on a fitness kick lately. With vacations now booked to L.A. in April, possibly a Vegas trip in May, and France in August I want to be in the best shape possible. That means eating cleaner, working out, and taking better care of myself overall. I'm actually trying the BBG program which involves working out 6 days a week (3 days of resistance training and 3 days of low-intensity cardio) for the first few weeks. If I stick with this program hitting this goal should be fairly easy.

TWO // Put 10% of my paycheck in savings - With all these trips coming up it's also important that I am more intentional with my spending. I want to be more frugal this month so that I can put 10% of my monthly income into savings at the end of the month.

THREE // Read two books - I'm about halfway done with  'All the Light We Cannot See' and after that I'm planning on reading 'Opening Belle' at the suggestion of two of my friends. I've heard its a pretty quick read so I'm hoping I can fit one more book in during the month. All the time traveling between NYC and Philly on Amtrak should help!

FOUR // Drink 8 glasses of water a day - Going hand and hand with working out, I want to try and up my water intake. A side goal of this is to significant lower my soda intake.

FIVE // Grow my blog - I don't want to set specific numbers on this, but I'd like to make progress with my blog and experience growth in March.

I'll be checking in at the end of the month to let you know how I did! Do you have any monthly goals? Also if you have any motivation tips I'd love to hear them!

P.S. This is also my 100th post! I just want to thank everyone who has been following along with me on this journey, whether you just found my blog today or have been with it since day 1. I hope you all have enjoyed everything so far, I can't wait to see where I go from here!
