Star Wars Tank & Moto Jacket

Tuesday, December 22, 2015

Jacket (on sale + extra 40% off) // Jeans // Tank Top (similar also love this one)
Heels (on sale for under $100) // Lipgloss (Chelsea Girls by NARS)

Is it a little embarrassing that I've owned this tank top for about four years? I'm by no means a "super fan" of the franchise, but I always liked the movies growing up. When I saw this tank at Forever 21 a few years ago for $5 I know I needed it. And I have worn it a LOT, we're probably at pennies per wear at this point. I love throwing it on with white jeans and a denim vest or jacket or with faux-leather leggings and my new moto jacket. When Alex, his friend Joe, and I went to see 'The Force Awakens' this weekend I knew I had to bust out this top to wear for the occasion. I decided to dress up this casual look with my new (super comfy) leopard heels from Sam Edelman and my new Banana Republic moto jacket (mine is a tall and I love how long the arms are)!

I loved this look so much I had to take pictures later in the afternoon to share on the blog. Although my tank top is old, there are tons of fun Star Wars clothing items available with the release of the new movie.

Has anyone seen the new movie? What did you think? Please don't post any spoilers in the comments out of consideration for readers who haven't seen it yet! Also, do you own any Star Wars gear?

P.S. Don't forget to take my year-end survey (available right here) and after taking the survey enter to win a $10 Gift Card to Starbucks! Thank you to everyone who already took the survey and entered yesterday! The giveaway will run until next Monday and I will email the winner sometime next week! Fisherman Sweater & Bean Boots + (the BEST views of Philly)

Monday, November 30, 2015

Sweater // Flannel Shirt // Jeggings (mine are X-Long)
Bean Boots // Camp Socks // Pandora Bracelet // MAC Lipstick in 'Snob'

Happy Monday! I hope everyone had an amazing holiday weekend! We got back from Pittsburgh last night and just relaxed watching TV (anyone else obsessed with Quantico?) and got ready for the week. I'm working at my new job this week and then heading to Frederick, MD this weekend to spend time with one of my best friends from college and her family. It's been a busy couple of weeks, but I love being on the go!

Anyways, this outfit is such an easy fall/winter classic. This fisherman sweater has been on major repeat ever since I ordered it. I got a large and I found that it's the perfect size to wear over a flannel shirt, but it's not too oversized. The arms are also the perfect length which is a rare find for me! I am usually a medium or large in sweaters so I'd say this one fits pretty true to size. I paired the sweater with my favorite jeggings (which have been repeat offenders on the blog) and my bean boots. I wear these boots constantly in the winter (I love them because they keep my feet warm, dry, and prevent me from slipping on icy sidewalks in the city. They run large but I ordered my regular size so I can wear them with thick socks, like the ones I'm wearing in these photos.

I wore this outfit to the new elevated park in Philadelphia, Cira Green. The space is actually located on top of a parking garage structure near University City. The park is a really cool, modern design which offers great views of center city. Me and my friend Lauren went up one afternoon to take these pictures and the views were just breath-taking. I highly recommend a visit if you're in the Philly area (it's free after all!).

What do you think of this outfit? Have you been to Cira Green? I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday weekend!

Pants (35% off) // Shirt (similar option 1 and option 2) // Purse (in black)
Watch // Earrings (similar option 1 and option 2)

Hey everyone! I'm really excited because today I am co-hosting the 'Confident Twosday' link-up with Laura from I do deClaire, she's actually a Laura Kathleen as well! Laura runs a cute style blog and looks awesome, she finds a lot of her clothes through thrifting, is a mom, and works a full-time job! Talk about doing it all! Go over to her site and check out her post, plus if you add your link to the link-up be sure you're following both me and Laura on Bloglovin!

Anyways, I wanted to share with you an outfit that you could wear to work today. I recently purchased these gorgeous wide-leg pants from Nordstrom. I love the deep oxblood color and the long length of these babies. Unfortunately this color is sold out, but they have four other colors available (white, black, navy, and bright red) which would all be great additions to your work wardrobe. When I came out in this outfit to shoot it, Alex told me it had a 70s vibe, which I totally see. Since the 70s are "in" this fall, this would be the perfect way to embrace the trend without being too costume-y, and still being work appropriate. Also, these pants are so comfortable! If you saw my Instagram, we were being a little silly when shooting this look and I was even able to do some yoga poses in these, which means you will feel relaxed all day when you're wearing these to work.

What do you think of these pants? How would you style them? Also, please be sure to stop by tomorrow for a big personal announcement and the launch of something awesome I've been working on with a friend. I'm really excited to share everything with you all!

Sweater (under $100!) // Jeggings // Booties (similar option 1, option 2)
Earrings // Necklace (mine says '504') // NARS Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in Cruella

And we're back to Monday! Was it just me or did this weekend fly by? I had so much fun on Saturday getting everything ready for Alex's party and then spending time hanging out with friends at the birthday party. On Sunday I got breakfast at my favorite spot (Pete's) and then checked out J.Crew's new arrivals. I practiced self-control and bought nothing (gasp) but I have a couple things on my wishlist (this and this). Alex and I met my parents for dinner in New Jersey on Sunday night and then came home and hung out watching Sunday night television. All together it was a pretty fun and relaxing weekend! I have an exciting week coming up and I can't wait to share with you all! Keep coming back for fun posts all week!

For this outfit I wanted to feature a new sweater I purchased in the Nordstrom Fall Clearance sale! I saw this oversized cashmere/wool blend sweater and knew I needed it in my life. I opted for the camel color so it will match black and blue outfits, also I just love the color camel. I love how long it fits, which will make it perfect to wear with leggings all winter. I ended up buying a medium, and for reference I usually wear a large, so I'd say the sizing is generous on this. I definitely could size up for a more relaxed fit, but I really like the way the medium fits me. I'm also 6', so I would recommend this sweater for taller people as it might be a little overwhelming on a petite frame (but they also do make this in petite sizes, so if you're not usually petite but want a shorter look on this you could try ordering that!).

I love this look, it's so casual and perfect for running around and looking put together but comfortable. I ended up wearing this to Alex's birthday dinner on Sunday night and my mom complimented me on this look. I love how well my black western-style booties pair with this, the perfect mix of black, brown, and blue!

What do you think of this look? How would you style this sweater? Hope everyone had a great weekend and your Monday is off to a fantastic start!

Leather Skirt and Striped Turtleneck

Turtleneck (also worn here) // Faux-Leather Skirt (also worn here) // Slingback Pumps
Earrings // Lip pencil (Whirl) layered with Lipstick (Belle du Jour)

Remember how I said in this post how this faux-leather skirt was going to be a go-to for me this fall? I was right. I've worn it to work with tights, out with friends, and to brunch. It's so comfortable, the tall is the perfect just-above-the-knee length and it's neutral without being boring. A keeper in my book.

One of my favorite tops to pair the skirt with lately has been this tissue-turtleneck from J.Crew. I picked this up (along with a red one, worn here) on sale in late September and I've probably worn each of them at least once a week. They're the perfect weight for layering under a sweater, or wearing alone on these warmer fall days that we've been having. It was 75 degrees here last week! Not that I'm complaining. I know that when it does go into the inevitable deep freeze this winter these will be perfect under a chunky sweater at work since I'm always cold (seriously, ask my work team, I brought in a personal heater the last two busy seasons to prevent my hands from turning blue at work).

I also have been loving wearing these slingbacks to work. They look at lot like the Manolo Blahnik slingbacks of my dreams (one day) but I scored them during the Shopbop sale for under $100! They are a little high, so I don't really like wearing them on days when I'll be doing a lot of walking, but for an office job? They're perfect.

What do you think of this combo? I hope everyone's weeks are going well so far!
