Fall Beauty Trend: Berry and Vampy Lips

Thursday, October 8, 2015

one (Oxblood no. 97) / two (Black Dalia) / three (Charlotte) / four (No. 46 Soul Mate)
five (206 Grenat Satisfaction) / six (Rebel) / seven (Heroine) / eight (Fanny)
nine (Hot Berry) / ten (Bramble - Black Currant) / eleven (Aria) / twelve (YouYou 415S)

Today I wanted to share two of the hottest beauty trends this fall: berry lips and vampy lips. I am a huge fan of a bold lip. My absolute, ride or die, color is '300 - Flame' by Covergirl. Not kidding, I tend gravitate towards more expensive lipsticks (I just find they last so much longer and I get my money's worth) but that stuff is good. See examples here and here

Anyways, as much as I love Flame, it's not exactly a winter color. I really want a good berry and good vampy lip for this fall/winter season. I mentioned in this post about how I went to Sephora this past weekend and tried on a bunch of fall lip colors. I rounded up some of my favorites above. I'm leaning towards ordering the MAC Rebel, Stila Aria (it's a liquid lipstick, so it goes on like lip gloss and dries into a lipstick, I have it in Bellissima and love it! I get so many compliments!), or the Bite Black Currant. I've never tried Bite products before, but I really liked the look of the formula in the store. Also, the Sephora brand option is a little less expensive than most of the other options and looked almost exactly like the Bite product, so maybe that will be the winner!

Oh and that Christian Louboutin lip color I put in there? At $90 a pop I don't think that will be happening anytime soon, but I couldn't resist adding it in. I mean that packaging. Swoon. Has anyone tried any of his lipsticks?

What lip trends do you like for the fall? Have you tried any of these products? I'd love some recommendations or reviews!

  2. I wish I could pull off a dark lip but it does not look cute on my complexion so I will settle for wine colored fingernails instead :)

    1. Yes! Those are more on the "Berry" end of the scale and I think they might actually work better with my fair complexion!

    1. Yes, flame is so good! It's great especially in the summer, but I pretty much wear it year-round! I really loved #10 in store too, might have to grab that one!

  9. I love all of these colors! I wish I could do a berry lip, but I always think they look so strange on me. I haven't found the right shade for my skin tone, but I'll have to look into these shades!

    1. The key is going to the store and trying them all on! It is really hard to find the perfect shade, but so perfect when you do! I hope one of these works for you!

  10. You can never go wrong with a berry lip I think! I have 'diva' from mac which is very similar to those shades just a little darker! Lovely post :)

  12. These shades are beautiful! I have yet to wear darker colors for this season as I don't think it would match me very much. I still wanna give it a try though!
